Overnight Stabling

We provide this service for travelers. Check the locator map for our location. We have a 6 stall barn pictured above with 4 attached turnout paddocks, sized 24 x 36'. Stalls are 12 x 12' with rubber mats, shavings, automatic waterers, an outside wash rack and electric.

Location. We are located 4.5 miles from Hwy 290 about 25 miles southwest of Austin, and about 90 miles from San Antonio.

Travel boarders need to have a current coggins, strangles vaccination, immunization record in state, and a health certificate if traveling from out of state. We can not accept stallions. A foal could be accommodated as long as he/she is in the wood paddock.

Parking, RVs, and paddocks. Traveling horses can stay in the front grass paddock pictured above, which is about the size of a dressage arena, or in a stall. The paddock has shade trees, but no shelter. Trailers can be parked in the pasture between the wire fence above and the wood fence in the back of the photo. We can offer electric for one trailer or RV. A riding arena with lights is behind the white wood fence. We allow camping in the trailer in the pasture without an additional charge. Electric hook up is $15.

Trailer Access. We can accommodate trailers up to about 18 to 20 feet long. If you are a shipper or have a with a larger rig, we have a neighbor who may be able to accommodate you on her ranch about a mile down the street, but call in advance to arrange that!

Area Parks for Trailriding. There are several within about a one hour drive. LCRA has these and others — McKinney Roughs in Bastrop (close to the Austin airport), Muleshoe, PaceBend, and Grelle, (all near Lake Travis about 40 minutes away). Then there is Canyon Lake (off 281 near Blanco), Pedernales State Park (on Hwy 290 west about 15 minutes away), Lake Sommerviille (about 90 miles away) and Hill Country State Natural Area (outside Bandera, about 100 miles away.) Prices for park admission range from free (Canyon Lake, Grelle, and Muleshoe) to about $10 per person (Mc Kinney Roughs.) Some will also allow horse camping. HCSNA (Bandera)-- primitive only, Sommerville (primitive and hookups), and Pace Bend and Grelle (primitive). The others are day use only parks but this is subject to change. If planning to camp at a park, check the Texas Parks and Wildlife site and make reservations. Most are reservation only.

Lodging nearby . The closest motel and RV parks in the area are in Wimberley, about 15 miles from Dripping Springs, with the acceptation of a couple of small B&Bs.

Other area attractions. Dripping Springs is 25 miles west of Austin, the state capital, known for its music, restaurants and lakes. It is 15 minutes from Wimberley, a quaint town with many tourist shops and craftsmen in the area. Wimberley has monthly shopping weekends and draws people from all over Texas. Blue Hole (Wimberley), Hamilton Pool (Dripping Springs), the Blanco River (Blanco) and Barton Springs (Austin) are all very nice natural swimming areas. Other area attractions include LBJ's boyhood home in Johnson City, the Alamo, the River Walk, and Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. Founder's Park in Dripping Springs has a public pool, too.

Pricing and feeding. Stall board pricing: $15 (includes shavings), paddock board $12 per horse per night. Bring your own feed, preferably pre-packed and labeled if you want us to feed for you and it is complicated.
