ABOUT
THE SERVICE
Carol Grosvenor markets nice horses via the
internet for friends from time to time and is very selective in choosing
which horses she chooses to sell. To follow is a listing of current
horses for sale, as well as information about horses who have been sold
in the last two years (the Graduates).
Currently, we are offering two fabulously trained, very sweet, gentle, eventing mares. These horses may be seen at Greenie Mountain Stables located on Hwy 15 South in Monte Vista, CO which is on the west side of the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado, near Alamosa. The closest airports are Albuquerque, New Mexico and Colorado Springs, CO. Julie may be able to bring them to a location closer to these airports for viewing. Sammy
is a 6 year-old registered bay Quarter Horse mare, 15.3 hands, 1,100 pounds.
She was bred in the San Luis Valley. She was started western and has been
with trainer Julie Burt for two years and is ready for an amateur owner
now. Currently she can jump a course at 3 feet, is scoring 70's in dressage
at first level, is schooling second level, is ridden regularly in the
mountains, and has competed in four recognized events, winning her last
one at Novice out of a field of 20 horses.
Sammy
is quiet, reliable, forgiving, and stunning as you can see from her photos.
Suitability:
Hunters, AQHA show horse, eventing, or Pony Club from D3 to B.

Calypso
Calypso
is a 9 year-old registered dark bay Thoroughbred mare, 16 hands, about
1,100 pounds. Julie bought her off the track and has owned and trained
her for the last five years.
Calypso
is an unusually talented mare, and also quiet and gentle to handle. She's
very scopey over fences, and possesses powerful dressage movement. This
summer she gave birth to her first colt and is just coming back into work.
She has evented through training level, can jump a three foot course,
and is moving at second level in dressage, schooling third. Like Sammy
she also has ample trailriding experience. Julie believes she can advance
to prelim in eventing and possibly higher with the right rider.
Suitability:
C2 to A level Pony Club horse, or specialization in dressage, eventing or
showjumping. Calypso needs a talented rider with a strong, independent seat.
